Ferne Millen completed a Bachelor of Creative Arts in Painting, Photography and Drama at The University of Melbourne. She launched into a professional career in photography for it allows her to showcase her own considerable mix of creative skills as a painter, designer, musician and performer. Ferne plays piano and saxophone.

Her photography of music events, in particular, shows strong empathy with other performers and demonstrates her ability to capture the great moments of individual performances; a skill that comes from a shared passion and sensitivity to artistic processes. Her love of photography was nurtured at an early age exhibiting her first works at 15 years of age
